Cathy R. Arvidson, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP  has been a nurse for over 30 years and an educator of nurse practitioners for almost 20 years and is currently coordinator of the family nurse program at Idaho State University.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, Master of Science in Nursing from University of Florida, PhD in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and FNP Certificate from University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.  In 2010 Dr. Arvidson was selected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Arvidson’s expertise in distance education has resulted in an online FNP program which serves students in rural communities throughout Idaho and beyond.  She currently serves as chairperson for the Advanced Practice Advisory Council to the Idaho Board of Nursing. In addition she is an active member of many professional organizations including Nurse Practitioners of Idaho and Advance Practice Nurses of the Intermountain West. Dr. Arvidson has been a member of AANP and has served as the Idaho state representative and is currently Region 10 Director.

Dr. Arvidson currently lives in Idaho Falls, Idaho with her family.  When not working she enjoys the outdoor activities that Idaho offers, especially skiing and hiking.
