Kevin Ballard is an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner currently working for Sanford Health in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Kevin also has experience in Family Practice, Neurology and Neuro-Surgery. He received his Masters Degree in Nursing (Community Health and Nursing Education) from Wright State University and his Post Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Arizona State University. Kevin is currently pursuing his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.
Kevin is active in legislative issues as a member of the Minnesota APRN coalition. He is also a member and co-founder of MN-NP a statewide organization for Nurse Practitioners. His professional interests include clinical practice in Sports and Occupational Medicine as well as Adolescent Health. He was instrumental in program development of the Occupational Medicine Program at Sanford Thief River Falls and the ImPACT testing program as part of Sanford’s Heads-Up Program. This program has provided both baseline and post injury testing to over 800 high school athletes in northwest Minnesota.
Ballard is involved in local politics as a Member of the ISD 564 School Board and is the region delegate to the Minnesota School Boards Association. He officiated high school and junior college football and provides medical coverage for Lincoln High School Girls and Boys Hockey.
Kevin was the Minnesota State Representative for AANP for 4 years before becoming the Region 5 Director representing MI, OH, IN, IL, WI and MN.
Kevin resides near Thief River Falls, MN with his wife, Beth and daughter, Paige. His son, Justin and his wife, Kris (Grandsons: Brayden and Cameron) reside in Aubrey, TX. |
