Television

AANP has produced several 30-second public service announcements (PSAs) to build awareness of NPs to the general public.  These PSAs have been distributed to broadcasters (network and cable) around the country.   You are encouraged to contact your local networks and cable operators and ask if they will play the PSAs.  If they agree, contact editor@aanp.org for more information about ordering.

Good Health Care highlights the many skills and services provided by NPs and is intended to convey the peace of mind a patient can have when their health care is provided by an NP.  The PSA is available in two versions – one has voice over (VO) the images and the other is without a VO, just displaying words on the screen accompanied by soft background nature sounds.  The VO version is available in English; the version without the VO is available in English and Spanish.

NPFinder is a 30-second PSA that was developed to showcase NPFinder.com, the exclusive service for AANP members to register their practice sites and for consumers to locate an NP in their community.  The PSA has two versions:  NP Finder 1 uses the same  with different message.  (2) this version has the same images as the brochure Your Partner in Health – The Nurse Practitioner.

Radio

Radio PSAs address a variety of aspects of health care and the many roles of an NP.  There are seven scripts that can be used independent of each other.  Many radio stations have their DJs or announcers read PSAs.  Some radio stations will record the PSA for play throughout a program or day.  You can review the scripts here.

If you have any questions about PSAs, please contact editor@aanp.org.
