Taxis
Information from the Orlando Convention & Visitors Bureau states that taxis charge the same rate regardless of the number of passengers (up to 9 passengers). All taxis picking up passengers at the airport are regulated by the City of Orlando’s Vehicle-for-Hire ordinance that requires fares to be determined by a taximeter. Flat rate fees are not authorized. Therefore, metered rates may vary from the approximate rates quoted. Orlando has a variety of taxi companies and independent drivers available at the airport, hotels, restaurants and other venues. The best way to make sure you are getting into a metered cab is to ask the question prior to getting into the vehicle.
Taxi Service from Airport to Hotel: At the airport, there is a taxi line and the question regarding metered cabs may be asked to the line manager prior to loading. The estimated rate from the airport to the Rosen Shingle Creek is between $25.00 - $32.00 one way.
Taxi Service from Hotel to Airport: To return to the airport, please note that Mears Transportation is the preferred vendor at Rosen Shingle Creek. If a hotel guest goes to the valet and asks for a taxi, they automatically send for a Mears Town Car. This cost is approximately $49.00 from the hotel to the airport one way. It would be best if you have acquaintances from the conference with whom to share this cost. If you wish to use another taxi company, the Orlando Convention & Visitors Bureau advises you to call another company and make a reservation to have a taxi driver pick you up at the hotel. If you were satisfied with your taxi service from the airport to the hotel, you may wish to arrange for a return reservation with that driver. Additionally, local taxi companies will be listed in the phone book in your guest room.

Further information from the Orlando Convention & Visitors Bureau states, Hotel guests “can take advantage of a flat rate for a taxi in the Convention Center Corridor. Official taxis can be requested at the valet station of the Rosen Shingle Creek, and a flat $10.00 rate will apply within the following Convention Center Corridor: Sand Lake Road, South to the Beachline, West to Interstate 4 and East to Rosen Shingle Creek Resort.
