Dear Colleagues, The feedback we have from the government and the American Red Cross regarding providing assistance in Haiti is the following: Currently all aid activity is being coordinated through the White House at this time. We will continue to monitor the Surgeon General's office as we have in the past for any development from that front. Currently, neither the government nor the Red Cross is looking for new volunteers. If you are already federalized or are a registered member of the American Red Cross you should contact them through your usual channels of communication. Self gathered groups are being discouraged from attempting to go to Haiti because of the serious logistical situation occurring there. While all recommendations to date are to send money, if you are trying to volunteer your time/services, you may go to USAid.gov. There is a form at the following link for you to complete: http://www.usaid.gov/locations/latin_america_caribbean/country/haiti/eq/dstechas.html
