The October 16, 2009 deadline to acquire applications materials for the 2009 Funding Cycle has now passed. Application materials are no longer available. The application submission deadline for the 2009 Funding Cycle is October 21, 2009. We regret that we are unable to offer deadline extensions.
The information below outlines what was available for funding during the 2009 Funding Cycle. A total of 28 scholarships were available through 3 scholarship categories – MSN-NP, Post-MS NP, and Doctoral. Listed with the offering information are corresponding scholarship eligibility requirements.

The information below reflects the 2009 Funding Cycle information ONLY and is presented as a sample of what the AANP Foundation has offered. Offerings, eligibility requirements, and program dates will change for future funding cycles.

· Specific Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants are required to be current AANP members; if selected as an award recipient, AANP membership must be maintained throughout the entire award funding cycle
- Applicants must be formally admitted to and taking courses in a fully accredited MSN-NP program
- Applicants must be MSN-NP students pursuing a Master’s in Nursing with an NP specialty
- Post-MS NP, DNP, and doctoral students are not eligible
- Applicants enrolled in MSN-NP programs must have completed at least one course of their MSN-NP educational program at time of application submission
- Applicants enrolled in BSN-MSN bridge or direct entry programs must have completed all BSN-RN related courses and have completed at least one course of their MSN-NP educational program at time of application submission
- Minimum MSN-NP study GPA 3.5
- MSN-NP degree must not be completed before April 1, 2010
- Scholarship funds must be used to pay for expenses related to MSN-NP courses beginning after December 31, 2009 (the first day of the funding cycle year)
- Scholarship funds must be used during the specified funding cycle dates
- Scholarship funds are to be used strictly for MSN-NP educational expenses (tuition, books)

AANP Foundation 2009 Post-MS NP Student Scholarship

· State Residency Requirement: 50 States or District of Columbia

· Scholarship Amount: $1,500

· Specific Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants are required to be current AANP members; if selected as an award recipient, AANP membership must be maintained throughout the entire award funding cycle
- Applicants must be formally admitted to and taking courses in a fully accredited Post-MS NP program
- Applicants must have a Master’s in Nursing and be pursuing NP education in a Post-MS NP program to either become an NP or to gain additional NP certification/specialization (for example, an Family NP enrolled in an educational program to become a Women’s Health NP)
- MSN-NP, DNP, and doctoral students are not eligible
- Applicants must have completed at least one course of their Post-MS NP educational program at time of application submission
- Minimum Post-MS NP study GPA 3.5
- Post-MS NP degree must not be completed before April 1, 2010
- Scholarship funds must be used to pay for expenses related to Post-MS NP courses beginning after December 31, 2009 (the first day of the funding cycle year)
- Scholarship funds must be used during the specified funding cycle dates
- Scholarship funds are to be used strictly for Post-MS NP educational expenses (tuition, books)
Maureen Glazier Memorial 2009 Foreign Service NP Scholarship

· Specific Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants are required to be current AANP members; if selected as an award recipient, AANP membership must be maintained throughout the entire award funding cycle
- Applicants are required to be currently licensed, practicing NPs with the US Department of State Office of Medical Services
- Applicants must be pursuing advanced and/or additional education in the area of Mental Health
- Strong preference will be given to applicants attending educational programs with a focus on suicide prevention and/or mental health counseling
- The educational program to be attended must meet approval of the US Department of State
- Applicants must have received approval by the US Department of State to attend the educational program
- The approval letter issued by the US Department of State must be included with submitted application materials
- The educational program must start within the specified funding cycle dates
- Scholarship funds must be used during the specified funding cycle dates
- Scholarship funds are to be used strictly for Mental Health educational program expenses (tuition, books, learning materials)
- In the event that the awarded recipient does not begin the Mental Health educational program by the end of the funding cycle (December 30, 2010) the full amount of awarded funds must be returned to the AANP Foundation

- DNP students who are not NPs or will not be NPs at the end of their DNP program are not eligible
- MSN-NP and Post-MS NP students are not eligible
- Applicants must have completed at least one course of their doctoral educational program at time of application submission
- Minimum doctoral study GPA 3.75
- Doctoral degree must not be completed before April 1, 2010
