FAQs
Got a question? We have an answer.
The most common AANP Fellows Program questions are answered below.
Do I need to know a current Fellow to apply to be a Fellow?
Yes. You must secure an invitation to apply from a Fellow (Primary Sponsor) and an endorsement to apply from another Fellow (Secondary Sponsor).
I don't know a current Fellow, how do I find one to sponsor me?
Please refer to the "Securing a Sponsor" tab in the Becoming a Fellow section of the site.
When will the Fellows applications be open?
The FAANP application process opens every fall with a limited number of new FAANP members selected the following spring. However, the process to prepare for application should start at least a year before the application period.
Are Fellows chosen mostly from academia?
No. Fellows are selected based on their outstanding contributions to clinical practice, research, education or policy.
