Penelope Bosarge
MSN, RNC, ARNP, FAANP
Ms. Bosarge's first experiences in nursing came while a student in a diploma program near her home in Alabama. Her nurse practitioner education was obtained from the certificate OB/GYN program at University of Alabama, Birmingham in 1973. She was in the first group of NPs to successfully pass the inaugural NCC certification exam in women's health. Ms. Bosarge was awarded a MSN from UAB where she later joined the faculty.
She has written and published many articles and is well known as a frequent speaker on topics of women's health.
Her experiences as a NP include family planning clinics in the health centers of Jefferson County, Planned Parenthood, the Urogynecologic clinic at UAB and the Division of GYN Oncology. Ms. Bosarge is a researcher, academician, clinician, and master teacher.
