Elda G. Ramirez
PhD, RN, FNP-BC, FAANP

Elda Ramirez was born in Laredo, Texas on the boarder to Mexico. She received her master's degree as a family nurse practitioner in 1993. Her practice focus has been in the emergency department where she has pioneered the role of the nurse practitioner in emergency care. Her innovative clinical methodologies have influenced clinical practice for nurse practitioners internationally. She utilized her doctoral work to collaborate with the Emergency Nurses Assocaition to establish the competencies for nurse practitioners in emergency care now endorsed by nursing organizations nationally. Passionate leader is how she is often described. She is presently developing a trauma residency program for NP's.
