2013 Appropriations Bills on the Move
The Senate Appropriations Committee recently approved its HHS bill for fiscal year 2013 ( begins October 2012). In this bill Title VIII and the National Institute for Nursing Research have been level funded for the coming fiscal year and includes Report Language recommending that $5 million be reserved for nurse managed centers.
Likewise the House Appropriations Committee has approved their bill which calls for level funding for the National Institute for Nursing Research and is reported to include a $14 million cut for Title VIII programs, discontinuance of AHECs and elimination of funding for the ACA which would eliminate the Prevention and Public Health Fund. Details of line item funding are not yet available. - AANP, July 20, 2012
