Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS)
There is a growing trend to track and report clinical performance measures. While this is currently an "optional" element of the Medicare program, AANP is seeing evidence that tracking and reporting on core clinical performance measures will soon be as routine as collecting vital signs. Learn more at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services web page and in AANP's clinical quality web pages.
PQRS (formerly called PQRI) is not just for physicians. It's a voluntary reporting program that provides financial incentives for providers, like NPs, that meet and report in select quality measures.
Did you know that over 6,000 NPs participated in the PQRS programs in 2010 and collectively were eligible for over $2 million in incentive awards for quality reporting? AANP partners with PQRSwizard to provide discounted fees for our members using their easy-to-use quality reporting tool. PQRIwizard offers a simple online process to collect, validate and report PQRS data to CMS. Learn more at the PQRSwizard website.
