I have had a lengthy and positive career in nursing (RN 1976, NP 1995, nurse researcher 2004, and educator 1995). My clinical background is extensive. My research interest is in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method research, and in working with evidence- based practice. I have precepted, taught and mentored staff nurses, nurse practitioners, and BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD students. I have numerous publications, and presentations at local through international venues. I have served on and led too-many to-count committees within the university, as well as in state and national organizations. My educational background includes degrees from Loyola University New Orleans (History; Nursing), a Master in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, Masters in Nursing (w/FNP) from Mississippi University for Women, and PhD in Nursing, with minor in Information Science from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I lived in New Orleans from 1976 through 1999, left to complete PhD, moved to Salt Lake City and then Alabama, returning to New Orleans in 2012. I teach in the Master's and DNP Programs, served as the DNP Coordinator, and am currently the Interim Director of the School of Nursing at Loyola University New Orleans.
