Dr. Irene Bean is the Region 4 Director of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP).
Dr. Irene W. Bean is the CEO and owner of Serenity Health Care PC. In this role, she is a certified family nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner for Serenity Health Care PC. In 2014, she founded the Tennessee Nurse Practitioner Association. She has presented at state and national conferences. She holds several professional roles, including a Fellow for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, a Fellow for the American Academy of Nursing, a Fellow of the Nurses Academy of Practice, a Duke/Johnson & Johnson Leadership Fellow, and a Tennessee State Liaison for AANP. She is an active Tennessee Nurse Practitioner Association member and has served as the CEO. Dr. Bean was awarded AANP’s 2016 State Award for Excellence. She served on the advisory council for Shields Therapeutics. Dr. Bean holds a master’s degree from TN State University, a doctoral degree in nursing from Loyola University in New Orleans, and a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certificate from Johns Hopkins University.
