Deanna Babb was invited to a Region 8 meeting in 2004 and soon found herself more involved as she became the interim Montana State Representative. She has been honored to be elected to serve several terms in that position. Her Montana colleagues named her AANP Advocate State Award for Excellence in 2010. She looks forward to networking, education and meeting new and "not-as-new" friends at AANP national conferences as she has done each year since 2002.
Currently, Dr. Babb works in a nurse practitioner (NP)-owned clinic in Great Falls, Montana, with another NP, where they have a busy family practice. Providing excellent care for her patients and community is her passion. One of her patients nominated her for the local Unsung Hero award in 2013. She completed her master's degree at Montana State University and doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) at University of Missouri, St. Louis. She has taught at the graduate level for 13 years and has 12 years' experience as coordinator for a family NP program. She is enjoying her new university home, teaching in the DNP graduate program at University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Dr. Babb is married with four grown children and loves being "gramma" in her free time.
