Mandated Residency and Fellowship Training
Nurse practitioners (NP) are prepared to be fully licensed providers upon graduation from an accredited NP program and national board certification. No added academic clinical or supervisory hours are necessary for the safe provision of patient care. The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) opposes mandated post-graduate residency and fellowship as a condition of licensure for NPs.
