Data Collection Program at the 2021 AANP National Conference

Consider taking a few minutes to support nurse practitioner (NP)-focused research! The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) invites conference attendees to participate in NP-focused research through the Data Collection Program at National Conference. Past program participants have shared their research findings at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.

Please consider participating in the following surveys. A brief description of each survey, as well as eligibility criteria, can be found by expanding each study listing below. Participation is voluntary.

  • Does Nursing Certification Contribute to Implementing Mobility Interventions?

    The purpose of this research study is to determine whether certified registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses who practice in intensive care units (ICUs) are more likely to provide strategies that promote early progressive mobility compared to noncertified nurses. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

    Eligibility Criteria: NPs working 20 or more hours in the ICU.

  • Examining Factors That Influence Confidence and Competence Among NPs

    The purpose of this research study is to develop an understanding of which components of a NP residency contribute to improvements in confidence and competence among NPs. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

    Eligibility Criteria: NPs who have completed a post-master’s NP residency program or have at least one year of experience in clinical practice as an NP.

  • A Descriptive Cross-sectional Survey Exploring NP Practice Across Diverse Emergency Care Settings

    The purpose of this research study is to explore NP practice within the broad definition and context of emergency care and how current practice aligns with existing NP certifications and supports health care workforce needs. The survey will take approximately five minutes to complete.

    Eligibility Criteria: NPs who are currently practicing in a defined emergency care setting (e.g., emergency department, chest pain observation unit, emergency medical response vehicles, emergency telehealth, correction facility or occupational health providing urgent care).
