CMV Medical Examiner Certification Prep Course 2026
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Medical Examiner Certification Prep course is designed to ensure that all health care providers are educated on the core curriculum established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in preparation to sit for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) exam.
About the Course
- Completed entirely online, it covers 12 comprehensive subject areas: physical qualifications and fitness for duty; vision; hearing; hypertension; insulin and non-insulin-treated diabetes; cardiovascular; respiratory; neurological; musculoskeletal; scheduled drug use and alcohol use; psychological disorders and medical examiner decision-making.
- Offers 7.6 contact hours of continuing education (CE) credit upon completion, and a certificate qualifying participants to sit for the NRCME exam.
- Includes over 300 practice questions in a PDF, and an interactive format for an in-depth review and preparation for the NRCME certification exam.
- Meets NRCME initial certification and 10-year recertification training requirements. Please note: the 5-year periodic training is only offered by FMCSA. To access 5-year periodic training, log in to your National Registry account and select “Periodic Training Due” from the menu.
