The National NP History Grant award is a funding opportunity for a research or scholarly project focused on the historical foundations of the NP movement at a national or international level. Grants are available to AANP members of any type (including student or associate members) in good standing and demonstrating expertise — or interest in — historical research. History projects should contribute novel findings to the body of existing knowledge as new, original research related to and of importance to the NP role.
Awardees may receive up to $5,000 in grant funding. Only completed applications will be accepted and reviewed.

The state history might include information of the evolution of statutes including the nurse practice act or equivalent, nursing organizations involved in the APRN/NP movement, supervision requirements, prescriptive authority and other authorized ordering, and status of autonomous practice over time.
