The 2021 American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) Health Policy Conference is moving online this year. Access all of the sessions for two full weeks and gain the skills you need to be a legislative advocate for the nurse practitioner (NP) role! Registration is now closed.

    AANP Government Affairs Update

    This session will cover current state and federal policy issues and provide an update on active legislation at the state and national levels. The presentation will highlight priorities of the 117th Congress.

    This session will provide an overview on how social media and the internet have changed and how the impact of these changes affects consumer attitudes, accuracy of information and policymaking at the state and federal level. You will have the opportunity to develop skills and proficiency in the use of social media to advocate for public policy priorities, mobilize support for issues and engage with media.

    Impact of COVID-19 on Nurse Practitioner-owned and -led Practices — An NP's Story of Creativity and Resilience

    This session will provide information on the impact of COVID-19 on the health care system, including NP-owned and -led practices, and strategies for sustainability post-pandemic.

    How Evidence Informs Policy: Using Research to Support Nurse Practitioner Advocacy

    This session will provide an opportunity to learn about strategies on how best to utilize evidence to help inform policymaking. The session will also seek to expand your knowledge of the scholarship and research studies that form the foundation of NP advocacy and policy.
