    Conference Summary

Stephen Ferrara Takes Helm as President of AANP as Thousands of NPs Convene in New Orleans for the 2023 AANP National Conference

The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) will host the largest annual conference for nurse practitioners (NPs), the 2023 AANP National Conference, on June 20-25 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The conference will advance critical solutions to the nation’s primary health care access crisis and highlight emerging health care research. The outstanding leadership of outgoing AANP President April Kapu, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, FAANP, FCCM, FAAN, will be recognized as Stephen Ferrara, DNP, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN, assumes the AANP presidency on June 25. The event will unite thousands of NP attendees at the forefront of health care research, innovation and delivery as they engage in the latest continuing education, networking and leadership opportunities.

Credentialed media are invited to attend the conference and get to know the solutions NPs offer to expand high-quality health care access, address health care disparities and support provider well-being. This conference highlights why more states are implementing Full Practice Authority (FPA) for NPs, thereby improving access to care for millions of patients, and why five more states passed FPA licensure laws in just the past 2.5 years. NPs provide lifesaving care, and for the second year in a row, U.S. News & World Report ranked the NP role as the No. 1 job in health care.

Credentialed media who attend the conference will receive free conference admission, access to selective sessions and exhibits and admittance to a dedicated on-site press room. The AANP housing block rate is available to media if reserved before May 24.
