This ribbon denotes community members who are also Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP). FAANP is dedicated to the global advancement of nurse practitioners (NPs) and the high-quality health care they deliver. Comprised of recognized NP leaders who have made outstanding contributions to NP education, policy, clinical practice or research, the Fellows work toward furthering the NP profession, developing NP leaders of the future and enhancing AANP's mission.
The community co-chair ribbon signifies the two co-chairs that are provided for each SPG or SIG. Community co-chairs are volunteers who agree to engage with community members and provide expert-level experience within their specialty or interest area. Each co-chair serves a minimum of two years in their volunteer role. Becoming a community co-chair is a self-nomination process with final approval from the AANP Practice Committee.
This ribbon identifies members of the AANP Research Committee. Research Committee members hold positions on an internal AANP advisory group for the purpose of the development, evaluation and dissemination of research projects that are NP focused or led. Committee members advise AANP staff on research-related programs, initiatives and activities.
Specialty Practice Groups (SPGs) and Specialty interest Groups (SIGs)
AANP offers 17 communities that are organized around therapeutic areas and professional interests. Designed to support discussion, document sharing, collaboration and networking, each SPG maintains a dedicated online forum where you can instantly connect with like-minded NP colleagues and share information — all in the pursuit of providing the best care to your patients.
AANP Network for Research (AANPNR)
The AANPNR is a free, online community that provides NPs with a platform to interact with other researchers. Benefits of the AANPNR include sharing resources with other NPs, receiving a monthly newsletter and much more!
