A Message From the Entrepreneur SIG Co-chairs

Lynn Rapsilber, DNP, ANP-BC, APRN, FAANP

With excitement, enthusiasm and bestowed privilege, I begin my service as co-chair of the Entrepreneur SPG.

A little about me ... I currently practice as an NP in GI. I own NP Business Consultants, LLC., educating NPs about the nuances of documentation, coding and billing. I am the CEO and a co-founder of the National Nurse Practitioner Entrepreneur Network (NNPEN), founded by NPs to build and sustain NP-led businesses.

I have been an active participant on this site and am excited by the number of NPs considering practice or business ownership. NP education is lacking in business brain development. It is my hope this site will provide a forum for thoughtful, supportive discussion of issues affecting the NP entrepreneur. Many thanks to all who are already participating in the Entrepreneur SPG. I am extending an open invitation to all who are contemplating, in the planning phase, newly opened, experiencing growing pains or seasoned NP entrepreneurs to join in the discussion.

Hello everyone! I am a family NP, nurse educator and community-engaged scholar who has spent the last 15 years working on innovative community-based programs in Washington, D.C. Most of my programs have come from my dissatisfaction with the current model of health care and my desire to improve health care delivery to under-resourced and disenfranchised communities. My work includes developing community-based programs on mental health literacy for adults and mobile health COVID-19 testing and vaccination programs. Most recently, I developed a nurse-led wellness hub model in public housing. This last program led to the formation of my new company, Community Concierge Care (“C3 Cares”). For this, I won the 2021 Johnson and Johnson Quickfire Challenge for Nurses: Improving Access to Care.

So, I am a relatively new entrepreneur, but I have learned a lot this past year. I truly believe that NPs have a tremendous potential to lead the movement on improving health care in the US. I am very excited to share what I have learned and hear about the experiences of my fellow NPs!
