The Neurology Community offers a unique opportunity to interactively collaborate with colleagues who share interest or clinical expertise in neurology. Dr. Celia McIntosh, DNP, RN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, CCRN, CEN, SCRN, CNRN, LNC, is a dual-certified NP whose career spans neuroscience, clinical innovation, executive leadership in nonprofit organizations and social justice advocacy. With more than 20 years of experience in neurology, psychiatry, emergency medicine and critical care, she specializes in advancing equitable outcomes and building trauma-informed systems of care.
For over 12 years, she has served as a neurohospitalist NP, caring for patients with stroke, epilepsy, ALS and traumatic brain injury. Her expertise in brain health extends from bedside practice to system-wide initiatives, including depression screening protocols for acute stroke and human trafficking protocols embedded into electronic health records.
Dr. McIntosh’s leadership integrates neuroscience with advocacy, addressing the neurological impacts of racism, trauma and toxic workplaces, particularly for Black women. A global speaker, author and nonprofit leader, she continues to advance initiatives at the intersection of brain health, social determinants of health and equity.
