A Message From the Women’s Health SPG Co-chairs

Joan Zaccardi, DrNP, APN-BC, FNP-C, NEA, FAANP

It is my pleasure and an honor to be serving in the role as co-chair of the new AANP Community-Women’s Health Specialty Practice Group.

I am a family nurse practitioner with a strong background and experience in Women’s Health, including Urogynecology and Primary Women’s Health care, as well as OB/Gyn practice. I am an adjunct clinical instructor at Rutgers University, teaching Adult Gerontology Primary Care to NP students.

I am excited to network and share "best practices" with all of you, whether it be in person at the AANP National Conference or through this online forum. I want to personally welcome all interested NPs to the Community-Women’s Health SPG. I hope you find the content and networking both valuable and insightful!

Diane Todd Pace, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, NCMP, IF, FAANP, FAAN

I am so excited to be serving as co-chair to help establish our first AANP Women’s Health Community Specialty Group. As many of you know, we have been advocating for this group for many years, and I am honored and privileged to be serving in this role. I look forward to working with Dr. Joan Elizabeth Zaccardi to set up our network of clinicians who are focused on learning and impacting the lives and health care of women through practice, education and research.

Many of you know me. I have been a long-time member of AANP, presenter of women’s health programs focused on menopause and sexual health and a Fellow since 2007. This year (2001), I celebrate 50 years in nursing & 45 as an FNP. I have a PhD in nursing (1998) from the University of Tennessee Health Science in Memphis, where I have been on faculty since 2008. I am a Professor, teaching in the DNP program. I also hold dual appointment with the College of Medicine/Department of Ob-Gyn, with whom I collaborate in clinical practice, teaching their residents at a menopause/sexual health clinic I helped develop at the Gyn clinic of Regional One Health. I am a NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner (2001) and the only NP to serve as President of the organization. I serve on their editorial board of Menopause and on the Peer Review Task Force for “Clinical Pearls”. I am honored to have received two prestigious awards from NAMS: Menopause Practitioner of the Year and the Leon Speroff Outstanding Educator. Additionally I am a Fellow in the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH).

I hope you will find the online forum valuable; I look forward to meeting and greeting many of you at our national conference and learning from each of you. Let’s share our vast knowledge with each other!
