Eligible nurse practitioners and students must apply by March 18 to be considered.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) works to sustain its core purpose "to promote high-quality health care for all" through financial support for nurse practitioners (NPs) and NP students. In 2025, AANP awarded $138,500 to 35 members through the AANP Grants and Scholarships Program, and in 2026 AANP will raise the amount to more than $155,000 in total awards.

“Investing in nurse practitioners and NP students is an investment in the future of patient care,” said AANP President Valerie Fuller, PhD, DNP. “By expanding our grants and scholarships program, AANP is helping remove financial barriers, support professional growth and ensure NPs are prepared to meet the evolving health care needs of the communities they serve. I strongly encourage eligible members to apply and take advantage of this opportunity.”

AANP is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Grants and Scholarships Program funding cycle. AANP members who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply for scholarships or grants before March 18, 2026, at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT).

AANP Grants are open to AANP members who are certified NPs or graduate students expected to complete their project in 2027. Applicants will be considered for up to $10,000 U.S. dollars in grant funding.

AANP Scholarships are offered to those AANP members currently enrolled in an accredited graduate school in pursuit of an advanced degree. Applicants must be licensed as a registered nurse, have at least one semester of classes completed and be scheduled to complete an eligible NP program between fall (August) 2026 and summer (July) 2027. Awardees will be considered for $2,500-$5,000 U.S. dollars in scholarship funding.

Applications must be submitted before the March 18 deadline. Only completed applications through our online system will be accepted and reviewed.
