American Association of Nurse Practitioners Introduces 2025 FAANP Career Advancement Program Cohort

AUSTIN, TEXAS — The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) understands the value of mentorship between nurse practitioner (NP) leaders and the next generation of NPs; facilitating the mentor and mentee relationship was one of the stated purposes of the Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) program when it was established by AANP in 2000. The FAANP Career Advancement Program is just one program that fulfills this purpose by pairing qualified applicants seeking one-to-one mentorship with an AANP Fellow.
Kathleen McCoy, DNSc, APRN, PMHNP-BC, PMHCNS-BC, FNP-BC, FAANP, chair of the FAANP Advancement Program Committee, believes the FAANP Mentorship Initiative is invaluable, stating, “This program will guide cohort members to develop professionally. Their mentored growth is quantified by their enhanced targeted expertise and the enrichment of their personal skills. On behalf of the committee, I’d like to extend sincere congratulations to this year’s cohort for their acceptance into the program and offer a huge thanks to the Fellows who have graciously accepted to serve as mentors.”
AANP is now honored to announce the 2025 FAANP Career Advancement Program cohort. FAANP has accepted 13 qualified NP mentees with diverse backgrounds from across the U.S. to pair with 13 Fellows. Applicants accepted in this program will work with their mentor for approximately one year and will work together on mutually agreed upon goals to be accomplished during the time of mentorship. In collaboration, these mentors and mentees will discuss issues in a disciplined, solutions-focused manner; widen and deepen the NP network influence; elevate the NP experience and much more.
