AUSTIN, TEXAS (July 15, 2025) – The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 2026 AANP Election. As a member-driven organization, AANP is strengthened by the leadership of a diverse group of members, elected by their peers to help guide the association and inform the future of the nurse practitioner (NP) role.
“AANP thrives because of the passion and dedication of its members,” said AANP President Valerie Fuller, PhD, DNP. “Stepping into a leadership role within our organization is a profound way to shape the trajectory of our profession. I encourage every qualified member to consider the unique value they bring and how their voice can guide the future of NP-led care.”
AANP individual members in good standing for the 12 months prior to July 21, 2025, are encouraged to self-nominate. Information about the elected leadership positions and eligibility requirements is available on the AANP Elections webpage. The deadline for nominations is Monday, Sept. 8, at 11:59 p.m. PT.
“This election is more than a process, it’s a call to action,” said Fuller. “We need diverse voices, innovative ideas and courageous leadership to meet the evolving needs of our patients and communities. I invite every eligible NP to engage in this opportunity whether by running for a position or by voting, because together, we define what’s next.”
