AUSTIN, TEXAS — The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) will induct 71 nurse practitioner (NP) leaders into the FAANP in June 2020. The new FAANP members will continue the tradition of impacting national and global health through their outstanding contributions. The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) will honor this year's FAANP inductees at a ceremony and dinner on Thursday, June 25, during the 2020 AANP National Conference at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans June 23–28.
The FAANP program was established in 2000 to recognize NP leaders who have made outstanding contributions to health care through clinical practice, research, education or policy. Fellows of AANP are visionaries and, as such, hold an annual think tank to strategize about the future of NPs and health care. The new Fellows will continue demonstrating leadership and contributing to the mission of AANP.
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) is the largest professional membership organization for nurse practitioners (NPs) of all specialties. It represents the interests of the more than 290,000 licensed NPs in the U.S. AANP provides legislative leadership at the local, state and national levels, advancing health policy; promoting excellence in practice, education and research; and establishing standards that best serve NPs’ patients and other health care consumers. As The Voice of the Nurse Practitioner®, AANP represents the interests of NPs as providers of high-quality, cost-effective, comprehensive, patient-centered health care.
