Guam adopts Full Practice Authority

Guam Adopts Full Practice Authority

AUSTIN, TX (February 15) -- There’s cause to celebrate! Our colleagues in the U.S. Territory of Guam have secured Full Practice Authority for Nurse Practitioners!

With the signing of 201-34, now Public Law 34-78, Guam Governor Eddie Calvo and Guam legislators have brought full and direct access to NP and other APRN care to the territory’s patients. AANP congratulates Guam; Bill Sponsors Senators Mary Camacho Torres and Dennis G. Rodriguez, Jr.; and the entire community of NPs for bringing Full Practice Authority to the territory. Congratulations again to our Guam NP colleagues, and thank you for partnering with AANP to bring quality, accessible health care to your patients.

As you know, advances for patients would not be possible without strategic and powerful engagement from NPs and other stakeholders advocating for patients. We encourage you to connect with one of the AANP NP Organization Members in your state or territory to get involved and support legislative changes in your state!

Thank you for belonging to AANP. Our strength is due to members like you who help support our patients and our profession.

Thank you,

Joyce Knestrick, PhD, C-FNP, APRN, FAANP
