AUSTIN, TEXAS (Sept. 16, 2024) – The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 2025 AANP Election. As a member-driven organization, AANP is strengthened by the leadership of a diverse group of members, elected by their peers to help guide the association and inform the future of the nurse practitioner (NP) role.
“Nurse practitioners are at the forefront of health care transformation,” said AANP President Stephen A. Ferrara, DNP. “Our profession thrives when diverse voices and experiences come together to shape the future. By stepping into leadership roles, our members ensure that AANP continues to champion the needs of NPs and the patients we serve. I encourage every eligible member to take part in this critical process—whether through running for office or casting your vote.”
AANP individual members in good standing for the 12 months prior to Sept. 16, 2024, are encouraged to self-nominate. Information about the elected leadership positions and eligibility requirements is available on the AANP Elections webpage. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, Oct. 31, at 11:59 p.m. PT.
“This is a chance to have a direct impact on the future of our profession,” added Ferrara. “Every nomination and vote count toward strengthening the voice of nurse practitioners and advancing health care. Together, we can shape a brighter tomorrow for NPs and the patients we serve.”
