New Fellow Applications Are Now Open

AUSTIN, TEXAS — The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) New Fellow Application is now open, offering an opportunity to recognize nurse practitioners (NPs) whose leadership, expertise and contributions have made a meaningful and sustained impact on the NP profession and health care.
Established by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) in 2000, the FAANP program recognizes NP leaders for outstanding contributions in areas such as clinical practice, education, research and policy. What began with an inaugural class of just 25 Fellows has grown into a distinguished community of more than 1,000 NP leaders.
Is FAANP Membership the Next Step in Your Professional Journey?
The FAANP designation recognizes accomplishments and impact already achieved while reflecting an ongoing commitment to advancing the NP profession. Candidates should be able to demonstrate significant contributions, sustained impact and influence that extend beyond their individual role or organization.
To be eligible, applicants must have maintained AANP membership in an eligible membership category for at least two consecutive years prior to the published open call for nominations date.
Importantly, the New Fellow Application process begins with a nomination by a current AANP Fellow. The nominating Fellow serves as the applicant's Primary Sponsor, with a second Fellow serving as the Secondary Sponsor. Sponsors are more than a requirement of the process — they serve as advocates and guides, helping candidates identify and effectively communicate the significance, reach and sustainability of their contributions.

Induction into FAANP is both an honor and an ongoing professional commitment. Fellows continue to lead, contribute and engage in efforts that advance clinical practice, education, research, policy and health care transformation. Through their collective expertise and influence, Fellows serve as ambassadors for the NP profession and help shape its future.
