AUSTIN, TEXAS — The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) is pleased to announce the launch of the AANP Industry and Executive NP Community.
Alongside the launch of the new community, AANP is streamlining the AANP Communities with a number of name changes and mergers that will make it easier for nurse practitioners (NPs) to create meaningful connections with like-minded colleagues, gain insights that will support their practice and share innovations in their chosen fields.
“The AANP Communities are a pivotal resource for connecting NPs who share specialties, promoting the flow of both information and wisdom,” said Valerie Fuller, PhD, DNP, president of AANP. “By creating new AANP Communities and consolidating established ones, we are ensuring our members get the most out of their financial commitment to joining their chosen AANP Community and our organization.”
For $20 annually, AANP members may join one of the communities where NPs discuss emerging research, effective treatments and more via online forums and direct messaging. As part of this evolution of the program, AANP will no longer make the distinction between specialty practice groups (SPGs) and specialty interest groups (SIGs) — referring to all communities simply as AANP Communities.
Moving forward, members of the AANP Ophthalmology and AANP Otolaryngology Communities can share clinical PEARLs with one another in the newly merged AANP Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Community. Members of the AANP Emergency and AANP Convenient/Urgent Care Communities can also look forward to connecting within the new AANP Emergency and Convenient/Urgent Care Community.
In addition to these mergers, the following five AANP Communities have undergone name changes to better meet the needs of NPs interested in these specialty topics:
All AANP members are encouraged to join an AANP Community, or several, to deepen your knowledge, expand your network and help progress the development of theory and practice in key areas of health care. If you have any questions about this or any other AANP activities, please submit an inquiry at aanp.org/contact.
