AUSTIN, TEXAS — The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) has opened nominations for its prestigious State Award for Outstanding Contributions. Presented annually to one outstanding recipient per state, this award honors those who have demonstrated excellence in advancing the nurse practitioner (NP) role through practice, education, advocacy, research and leadership (PEARL).
“Every day, NPs serve our patients and communities without fanfare,” said AANP President Valerie Fuller, PhD, DNP. “But once a year, AANP members have the opportunity to celebrate an NP in their state working to improve health care delivery and strengthen the NP role. If you know of one of these exemplary leaders, I encourage you to nominate an NP for the 2027 AANP State Award for Outstanding Contributions.”
AANP members are encouraged to nominate an individual AANP member or nonmember before the Oct. 13 deadline, and self-nominations are welcomed. Membership is required to submit a nomination; however, nominees for these awards are not required to be AANP members, and nominees cannot be current AANP elected leaders.
