AUSTIN, TEXAS — The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) is pleased to announce the slate of candidates for the 2026 AANP Election. Members of AANP play a crucial role in leading the organization, and each member's vote is needed to elect nurse practitioners (NPs) from all states, territories and regions who will help guide the association and advance the NP role.
“AANP’s strength is rooted in the leadership and participation of its members,” said AANP President Valerie Fuller, PhD, DNP. “This election is an opportunity for nurse practitioners across the country to help shape the future of our profession by choosing leaders who will advocate for NPs, patients and access to high-quality care. This is your chance to make your voice count.”
Meet the candidates and take time to read about their backgrounds, qualifications and goals for the positions they are seeking. Important campaign guidelines are detailed in the short video below. AANP strictly prohibits any additional campaign activities by the candidates or others.
AANP members who are eligible to vote in the 2026 election will receive an email notification when balloting begins. Online voting is open March 2 until March 31 at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT).
Although the slate is closed for 2026, members are encouraged to learn more about the election process and consider how they might contribute to AANP by running for an elected office in the future.
