AUSTIN, TEXAS — The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) has published the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (JAANP) — a monthly, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal for nurse practitioners (NPs) — since 1989. For more than 35 years, AANP members have enjoyed free access to JAANP, plus the journal’s AANP-accredited continuing education (CE) offerings.
Today, AANP is proud to announce that JAANP is adding three new members to the publication’s editorial board: Kristopher Jackson, PhD, MPH, MSN, AGACNP-BC, FAANP; Vanessa Kalis, DNP, APRN, RN, ACNP-BC, CPNP-AC, CHSE, FAANP; and Rebecca J. Graves, Ph.D., NP-C, FAANP have joined JAANP. All three candidates were chosen after a robust, nation-wide search.
Dr. Graves is a nurse scientist, family NP and nursing faculty member who has served as co-chair of AANP’s Obesity Community since 2021. Dr. Kalis is a board-certified pediatric and adult acute care NP whose research focuses on dysrhythmias in congenital heart disease, telemedicine, remote health care technology, mentoring and high-fidelity nursing education. Dr. Jackson previously served as an editorial mentee for JAANP and is an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, having recently completed his postdoctoral training at the University of California San Francisco Center for AIDS Prevention Studies.
AANP welcomes these distinguished NPs to the JAANP editorial board and looks forward to their contributions in advancing the journal’s mission. Their expertise and diverse backgrounds will help shape JAANP’s ongoing commitment to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research that informs NP practice and enhances patient care.
