The AANP CE Center offers a wide variety of continuing education (CE) activities for nurse practitioners (NPs). This helpful tool was developed as part of the comprehensive Clinical Advantage Bootcamp: Type 2 Diabetes Management Certificate for Nurse Practitioners CE program. Pharmacologic options for Type 2 diabetes continues to expand. Busy NPs need to stay up to date about the various drug classifications, doses, indications and side effects of the many Type 2 diabetes medications. This is an exciting time for diabetes management with many of the pharmacologic options providing more than one treatment benefit. This FAQ-based educational handout is designed to support NPs as they engage in discussions about aging, cognitive changes and Alzheimer’s Disease with their patients and their loved ones. Content includes helpful information about normal age-related changes in cognition and of those that may be related to dementia, along with a summary of self-help activities and resources.
After great success with an earlier version of migraine resources, AANP, in collaboration with educational partner Med-IQ, has developed a new series of educational tools for patients in primary care and neurology settings to assess headache symptoms for potential migraine.
AANP, in collaboration with educational partner Med-IQ and four expert NPs, has developed a series of educational resources to help NPs start important conversations with your patients about strategies for living well with MS. The goal of these resources is to improve the recognition of potential MS resources and encourage patients to discuss issues they may be having with their NPs. The development of these materials is supported by an educational grant from Teva Pharmaceuticals.
