Nurse practitioners are on the front lines of health care, using a patient-centered approach to provide quality care to people of all ages. AANP is honored to educate the public and policymakers about the important roles NPs hold and the positive contributions they make to the health of our nation. The media campaigns below are just a few examples of AANP’s outreach.

National Political Conventions – 222,000 Solutions to Strengthening Health Care for America

AANP was proud to elevate the voices of America’s nurse practitioners and the AANP brand at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, from July 18-21, 2016, and the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from July 25-28, 2016. Veterans Deserve Care

AANP created an integrated marketing campaign to support efforts by the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide our nation's veterans with direct access to the health care services of NPs and other APRNs.


Breast Cancer Awareness

AANP and the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.® (NBCF) launched a campaign for 2015 Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The campaign publicized the critical importance of early detection tools, namely self-exams, clinical exams and mammograms and included the message: See your Nurse Practitioner or visit NPFinder.com


National NP Awareness Campaign

In 2013, AANP launched a national public awareness campaign to increase visibility of the vital role nurse practitioners play in providing primary, acute and specialty health care. The campaign received a favorable response, including two Marcom awards, and it was updated in 2015 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first NP program.
