imageenvision36976On January 1, 2013, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (founded in 1985) and the American College of Nurse Practitioners (founded in 1995) came together to form  the American Association of Nurse Practitioners™ (AANP),  the largest full-service national professional membership organization for NPs of all specialties.

As The Voice of the Nurse Practitioner®, AANP represents the interests of the approximately 192,000 NPs around the country, advocating for the active role of NPs as providers of high-quality, cost-effective, comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare.
