If you’re interested in the brain, spinal cord, nerves or muscles, AANP has a place for you. The Neurology Specialty Practice Group (SPG) offers a unique opportunity to interactively collaborate with colleagues who share interest or clinical expertise in neurology. As an SPG member, you’ll have access to a cutting-edge, online forum where you can engage in discussions, document sharing and knowledge exchange with your fellow nurse practitioners (NPs). Come learn, share and help progress the development of theory and practice in neurology.
Welcome to the Neurology SPG! I’m excited to join Calli as a co-chair. As an adult nurse practitioner, my clinical practice centers on care of people living with headache. NPs practicing in the neurology space account for only 1% of all NP providers. As our population ages, the need for NPs in this practice setting increases. I hope we leverage our SPG’s knowledge in developing innovative educational and care models aimed at expanding the NP neurology workforce. I know together we can develop strategies to improve access to care while promoting positive patient outcomes in those burdened with neurologic conditions.
Welcome to the Neurology Specialty Practice Group! Having worked in various settings caring for patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions, I am excited to serve as the Co-chair of this neurology group. Peer groups are essential to facing the challenges of neurology practice, and the aim of this peer group is to facilitate networking between NPs, improve professional development and education of neurology NPs, and identify efficient practice models for best utilization of the neurology NP workforce. We’re all committed to the role of neuroscience NP, and, by focusing on these key elements, we can improve both patient care and NP role satisfaction. Please stick around and join the conversation in the Neurology SPG!
