AUSTIN, TEXAS — The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) is pleased to announce the launch of several new member benefits that provide substantial additional value to nurse practitioners (NPs). Through membership in AANP, NPs can now access a new continuing education (CE) activity each month at no cost, may opt to easily share CE certificates with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) and enjoy access to a comprehensive collection of Point of Care Tools and Clinical Practice Briefs. These new benefits complement the robust array of practice, education, advocacy, research and leadership resources offered by AANP and come at no added cost to members.
With the introduction of the unprecedented Course of the Month program, AANP members gain the ability to earn up to 12 additional contact hours of free CE credit throughout the year by completing activities that feature subject matter experts who are also AANP Community members. While members currently enjoy extremely low rates on AANP CE Center activities — and substantial discounts on conference registrations — the new Course of the Month program further demonstrates AANP’s commitment to provide members with affordable, high-quality CE.
In partnership with AANPCB, AANP now offers members the ability to transfer to AANPCB all CE certificates stored within the AANP CE Tracker by using a one-click opt-in link found in the My Education section of MyAccount. CE earned through the AANP CE Center or AANP conferences will be automatically accepted by AANPCB. Members also enjoy the unique ability to upload to the AANP CE Tracker any CE certificates earned outside of AANP. In addition to the $75 savings members receive off AANPCB certification or recertification applications, this innovative, new data-sharing tool offers an easy way for AANP members to streamline their AANPCB certification and recertification process.
Additional good news for members comes with the introduction of Point of Care Tools and the publication of new Clinical Practice Briefs. Easily accessible from the AANP Mobile App or the association’s website, these resources make clinical insights on a variety of topics readily available when and where NPs need them most.
“AANP’s dedication to members — and the value NPs gain through membership — continues to grow,” said AANP President April Kapu, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, FAANP, FCCM, FAAN. “By offering the new Course of the Month benefit, Point of Care Tools and additional Clinical Practice Briefs, AANP has greatly increased the ability of members to advance their practice. The revolutionary new data sharing tool will enhance the certification and recertification process for members who are also AANPCB certificants.”
AANP members frequently share their appreciation for the return on their membership investment. “I've been a member of AANP for about 15 or 20 years,” said AANP member Vicky Brooks, RN, MSN, ARNP-C. “This is one of my favorite organizations that I'm a member of, because I like the networking, I like the conferences, I like having access to all the up-to-date policies and advocacy that we have. Just being part of a larger community of NPs is what I really like.”
AANP’s commitment to NPs and core purpose of promoting high-quality health care for all are the inspiration for these and other innovative benefits for AANP members. NPs of all specialties are encouraged to join the movement and experience the value of membership firsthand by becoming an AANP member.
