Television Ad Highlights Nurse Practitioner (NP) Role During COVID-19 Pandemic

The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) is pleased to announce the launch of a new 30-second national television spot commemorating the vital work that NPs are doing.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — During the COVID-19 crisis, NPs have worked tirelessly under the direst of circumstances, putting in long hours, working in many cases without the supplies and equipment that they need and taking care of an influx of critically ill patients. For many NPs, after leaving a full day of patient care, they return home to care for family members and others in their community.

For the past year, AANP has aired a national multimedia campaign called “We Choose NPs” that highlights why patients should choose an NP as their health care provider. While this illustrates the many benefits that NPs bring to patient care, AANP wanted to showcase the services NPs have provided during this pandemic.

National cable spots running the week of June 22 with two spots per week, in the following schedule:

  • FOX, "Fox & Friends," Monday-Friday, 6–9 a.m.
  • CNN, "New Day," Monday-Sunday, 6–9 a.m.
  • HLN, "Robin Meade," Monday-Sunday, 6–10 a.m.
  • MSNBC, "Morning Joe," Monday-Friday, 6–9 a.m.

Spot buys will run the week of June 22 on “Good Morning America,” “The Today Show” and “Ellen” in the following markets: Boise, Idaho; Boston; Dallas; Denver; Jackson, Mississippi; Kansas City, Missouri; Los Angeles; Madison, Wisconsin; Miami; Minneapolis; Nashville; New Orleans; New York City; Pittsburgh; Raleigh, North Carolina; Rapid City, South Dakota.

To supplement the commercial, health care consumers will be directed to the “NPs Combat COVID” website, where they can access resources related to COVID-19, learn more about NPs and locate an NP in their area.

AANP truly appreciates all who submitted photos for this television spot. Thank you for taking the time to share and for telling us about your experiences. We are proud of the work you have done and all you continue to do to help patients be and remain healthy.
