The AANP CE Center offers a wide variety of continuing education (CE) activities for nurse practitioners (NPs). Members of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) get more, including access to many free activities and significantly discounted rates on others. The activities are updated frequently, and more than a dozen women's health-related options are currently available.
AANP-developed resources to support NPs in treating your patients.
This FAQ-based educational handout is designed to support NPs as they engage in discussions about aging, cognitive changes and Alzheimer’s Disease with their patients and their loved ones. Content includes helpful information about normal age-related changes in cognition and of those that may be related to dementia, along with a summary of self-help activities and resources.
This two-page handout provides a summary of HPV and HPV-related cancers for patients to educate them about who should receive the HPV vaccination and when. It also offers a list of sources for reliable vaccination information. This handout can be printed and placed in waiting and exam rooms or provided to patients so that they, and parents of adolescent patients, will be encouraged to discuss HPV prevention with their health care provider.
This visually engaging educational handout is designed to support NPs as they engage in shared decision-making conversations with their patients about major depressive disorder (MDD). The handout provides information about MDD symptoms, risk factors, self-help strategies, medications and available resources.
Women experience perimenopause and menopause in a wide variety of ways. Yet, NPs who may be the best positioned to help prepare women for this transition and provide timely treatment may not recognize the burden of systemic and genitourinary symptoms or how they affect their patient’s quality-of-life. In addition, NPs must be able to adapt to the patient’s evolving needs and to consider how health disparities may impact women differently across racial and ethnic backgrounds.
The Women's Health Specialty Practice Group (SPG) offers a unique opportunity to interactively collaborate with colleagues who share an interest or clinical expertise in women's health. As an SPG member, you’ll have access to a cutting-edge, online forum where you can engage in discussions, document sharing and knowledge exchange with fellow NPs. Come learn, share and help progress the development of theory and practice in women's health.
