FAQs

Got a question? We have an answer.

The most common AANP International Resources questions are answered below.

I am a 3rd year nursing student in Australia, and I have been assigned a project comparing the challenges and barriers to nurse practitioner practice in various countries compared to Australia. Could you advise me how I can find this information?

First go to http://www.icn-apnetwork.org, which is the web site for the ICN NP/APN Network. You will find reports, news bulletins and country specific websites describing NP activity in various countries. I am an NP in the United States with 20 years of clinical experience. I have always wanted to work in Europe as an NP. Could you advise me on this possibility?

Most countries in Europe are in the early stages of nurse practitioner or advanced nursing practice development. When clinical positions are available most often they are filled by local NPs or APNs. International role development is not at the stage where you can easily move from country to country to practice. If you have a specific country in mind email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I will try to give you a contact in that country.

I am graduating from a nursing program in the United States in June and plan to continue my education to become an NP. My husband is being transferred to India. Please advise me of an accredited NP program in Bangalore.

There is an Institute in Bangalore that offers a M.Sc.N. but not an NP program. I am not aware of any universities or teaching institutes in India that offer a program specifically for nurse practitioners.
