Career Advancement Program Pairs Nurse Practitioners for Mentorship Opportunity

Media Contact: Bryan Black

AUSTIN, TEXAS — The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) is now accepting applications to the FAANP Career Advancement Program. By matching seasoned Fellows with nurse practitioners (NPs) who are seeking professional growth, FAANP is making an enduring investment in the health care leaders of the future. This opportunity is exclusively offered to members of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP).

Mentorship is an enriching experience for mentors and mentees, imparting NPs with invaluable support, feedback and insight that will serve them well throughout their careers. There is no charge to participate if selected, although certain qualifications and expectations do apply.

A previous FAANP mentee, Irene Oyolu, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, describes her experience being mentored by Alison Mitchell, MSN, ACNP-BC, FAANP, as follows, “The whole time, she was encouraging me, letting me know that I can do this, I already have it in me. That encouragement meant a lot to me, and things I didn't even know I was able to do, she encouraged me to do. She's a very, very good motivator and encourager. It was a very nice experience.”

The deadline to apply is 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT) on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
